Aggregate Specifications

The Aggregate Specifications screen is used to associate Aggregate Sizes and Sieves and assign a Min and Max percentage of retained weight the sieve should contain for the size of the aggregate.


To access the Aggregate Specifications screen, use the Configuration menu > Quality Control Setup > Aggregate Specifications option (see Figure 1).

Fields

  • Aggregate Size – Dropdown. (Required) 
  • Sieve – Dropdown. (Required) 
  • Excluded* – Checkbox
  • Min – Decimal. Must be a value between 0 and 1. (Required)
  • Max – Decimal. Must be a value between 0 and 1. (Required)
  • Order By – Integer
  • Active – Checkbox

Add New Record:

  • Click the Add new record button to add a new aggregate specification (see green box, Figure 2).
  • Select the Aggregate Size (Required see Figure 3).
  • Select the Sieve. (Required)
  • Check Excluded if the retained weight in the sieve should be excluded from the test calculations.
  • The Order By field will default to the next available number but can be changed if necessary. (Required)
  • Active is checked by default when adding a new specification. If a specification is not active, it will not be displayed when creating an aggregate test.
  • Click the Update button to save the new record.

Edit a Record:

  • Click the pencil icon button to edit an Aggregate Specification (see blue box, Figure 2). 
  • Modify the Aggregate Size (Required see Figure 3).
  • Modify the Sieve. (Required)
  • Check Excluded if the retained weight in the sieve should be excluded from the test calculations.
  • The Order By field will default to the next available number but can be changed if necessary. (Required)
  • Set the Aggregate Specification as Active or Inactive (Required).
  • Click the Update button to save your changes.

Copy a Record:

  • Edit a record by clicking the Copy icon button (cyan box, Figure 2) 
  • Modify the Aggregate Size (Required see Figure 3).
  • Modify the Sieve. (Required)
  • Check Excluded if the retained weight in the sieve should be excluded from the test calculations.
  • The Order By field will default to the next available number but can be changed if necessary. (Required)
  • Set the Aggregate Specification as Active or Inactive (Required).
  • Click the Update button to save your changes.


Delete a Record:

  • Click on the [ X ] delete button (red box Figure 2) to the left of the corresponding Aggregate Specifications.
  • This will open a confirmation window where you will be asked "Are you sure you want to delete this record?" click [OK] to allow the deletion. (see Figure 5)

Note: You can’t delete aggregate specifications that have been used in a test.

* Excluding Sieves

Checking Excluded sets the Min & Max to 0 and any specimen collected in that sieve will not contribute to a test failure. The sieve will still be displayed and a retained weight can be entered for the gradation test. This example excludes the 1" sieve from all aggregates of the size "FA" (Figure 6).
