Strand Types Fields (typically comes from the PCI Design Handbook) and are assigned during the Production scheduling of plant beds.
You access the Strand Types screen from the Configuration menu > Production Setup > Strand Types (see Figure 1).

The added Strand Types are available as options when scheduling a Bed (see Figure 2).

Add Strand Type
To add a new Strand Type, click the “Add new record” button (Green box Figure 3 top left). This will open the Add New dialog window.

- Enter a Description.
- Enter the Code as a unique 4 character code.
- Enter the KSI is the type of strand.
- Enter the Diameter, in. is the strand diameter in inches.
- Enter the Area, sq. in.
- Enter the Strand Max P kips.
- Enter the Strand FPU 70% kips.
- Enter the Strand FPU 75% kips.
- Enter the Strand FPU 80% kips.
- Enter the Modulus of Elasticity.
- Default Value is a checkbox that indicates that this strand type should be the default selection in drop downs on screens.
- Active is a checkbox that indicates if this strand type is active or not, if not active it will not show up on any screens.
- Enter or Change the Order By.
- To add the Strand Type click the “Update” button on the Add New dialog (see the Green box in Figure 4).
Edit Strand Type
To edit an existing Strand Type, click the “Edit” button (Green box Figure 5 to the left of the Strand Type you'd like to modify). This will open the edit dialog window (Figure 6).

- Edit the Description.
- Edit the unique 4 character Code for the Strand Type. Please note that in-use or system default Strand Types Codes are Not editable.
- Edit the KSI is the type of strand
- Edit the Diameter, in. is the strand diameter in inches.
- Edit the Area, sq. in.
- Edit the Strand FPU 70% kips
- Edit the Strand FPU 75% kips
- Edit the Strand FPU 80% kips
- Edit the Strand Max P kips
- Edit the Modulus of Elasticity
- Set the Strand Type as Default the selection in drop downs on screens.
- Set the Strand Type as Active or inactive is a checkbox that indicates if this strand type is active or not, if not active it will not show up on any screens.
- Edit the Order By
- To update the Strand Type click the “Update” button on the Add New dialog (see the Green box in Figure 6).
Delete Strand Type
To delete any Strand Type, click the “X” button (Red box Figure 7) of the corresponding row of the Strand Type you wish to delete.
Strand Types cannot be deleted if associated with any beds.
