Overview
Safety Locations are organizational units used throughout various Safety Forms in the system. While they typically represent physical plants or facilities, they can be any location relevant to your safety management needs.
Hierarchy Structure:
- Safety Divisions (top level) contain multiple Safety Locations
- Safety Locations (middle level) contain multiple Safety Areas
- Safety Areas (bottom level) are the most specific location designations
Accessing Safety Locations
Navigate to the Safety Locations management screen:
- Go to Configuration menu
- Select Safety Setup
- Click Safety Location

Understanding the Safety Locations Grid
The main grid displays your Safety Locations with the following columns: (Figure 2)
- Description: The name/title of the Safety Location
- Division: The parent Safety Division
- Is Active: Whether the location appears in dropdown menus
- Order: The display sequence (lower numbers appear first)
Also, Click column headers to sort the data.

Managing Safety Locations
Creating a New Safety Location
To add a new Safety Location to your system:
- Click the [+ Add New Record] button (Red box, Figure 2)
- In the dialog that appears:
- Division: Select an existing Safety Division from the dropdown menu
- Description: Enter a clear, descriptive name for the location
- Order By: Set the display order (optional - you can modify this later)
- Active: Leave checked to make the location immediately available
- Click Save to create the location (Red box, Figure 3)

Editing an Existing Safety Location
To modify a Safety Location:
- Click the pencil icon (✏️) in the row of the location you want to edit (Yellow box, Figure 2)
- Make your changes:
- Update the assigned Division
- Modify the Description
- Change the Order By number to adjust its position in lists
- Toggle the Active status if needed
- Click Save to apply your changes (Green box, Figure 4)

Important: Deactivating a Safety Location will remove it from dropdown menus in Safety Forms, but it won't delete historical data associated with that location.
Deleting a Safety Location
⚠️ Caution: Deleting a Safety Location permanently removes it from the system. Consider deactivating instead of deleting if the location has historical data.
To delete a Safety Location:
- Click the X button in the row of the location you want to remove (Purple box, Figure 2)
- Confirm the deletion by clicking OK in the confirmation dialog (Figure 5)

Exporting Safety Locations
You can:
- Export to PDF: Generate a printable report of all Safety Locations (Figure 2)
- Export to Excel: Download the data for external analysis (Figure 2)
