Unit Types

Overview

The Unit Types screen is where units of measure used throughout Concrete Vision are defined. Examples include: 

  • units of currency (Dollars, Euros and Pounds)(Figure 2, Reference 1)
  • units of time (Hours, Days, Months and Weeks)
  • units of weight (Pounds, Kilos and Tons)


Accessing the Unit Types Screen

Navigate to Configuration > Accounting Setup > Unit Types from the main menu (Figure 1).

Using the Unit Types Screen

The Unit Types screen (Figure 3) is where you can edit, delete, add, and view unit types used throughout Concrete Vision.

Add a Unit Type

To add a unit type to use in Concrete Vision, begin at the main Unit Type screen (Figure 3):

  1. Click the Add new record button (green box in Figure 3). The Unit Types Add New window will appear (Figure 4).
  2. In the Code field, enter an abbreviation (up to 4 characters) to represent the unit type. (required)
  3. Enter a Small Description for the unit type. (required)
  4. In the Description field, enter the name of the unit type. (required)
  5. Check box if the new Unit Type will be used as an "Estimate Unit."
  6. Check box if the new Unit Type will be used as a "Phase Unit."
  7. Check box if the new Unit Type will be used for "Purchase Qty Only."
  8. Enter the order by number to determine display order. (required)
  9. Click the Update button (green box in Figure 4) to save and add the new Unit Type.

Edit a Unit Type

To edit a unit type in Concrete Vision, begin at the main Unit Type screen (Figure 3):

  1. Click on the Edit icon to the left the unit type to edit the unit type details (orange box in Figure 3). The unit type's Edit window will appear (Figure 5).
  2. Make any needed edits. Note: You cannot change a Unit Type's "Code" if it is in use.
  3. Click on the Update button to save changes (green box in Figure 5).

Remove a Unit Type

To remove a unit type in Concrete Vision, begin at the main Unit Type screen (Figure 3):

  1. Click the Delete icon in the corresponding row of the unit type to remove (red box in Figure 6). Note: You cannot delete a unit type if it is in use.
  2. Click the Okay button in the popup window to delete the record and remove the unit type from Concrete Vision.

Export a List of Unit Types

A list of unit types in Concrete Vision can be exported from the Unit Types screen via buttons at the top left.

  • To export the list as a pdf, click the Export to PDF button.
  • To export the list as a .xlsx, click the Export to Excel button.
